Prepare your documents with confidence
In the UAE your student visa is sponsored by your accredited university, or by a parent who is a UAE resident. After you accept an unconditional offer, the university applies for your entry permit. The medical test, Emirates ID and residence visa are completed after you arrive. Student visas are issued for one year and renewed through the university.

An unconditional offer is required
A conditional offer does not start the visa process. You need an unconditional offer from a UAE-accredited institution.
Check your institution is registered
Make sure your institution is registered with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education before you pay anything.

The UAE does not set a fixed minimum bank balance. You pay the tuition and visa fees required by the university, and may be asked for bank statements showing you can support yourself.

In the UAE your student visa is sponsored by your accredited university, or by a parent who is a UAE resident. After you accept an unconditional offer, the university applies for your entry permit. The medical test, Emirates ID and residence visa are completed after you arrive. Student visas are issued for one year and renewed through the university.
Step 1 — Offer Letter Checklist
To apply to UAE universities, we require the following documents:
- Passport — At least six months' validity.
- Passport-size photo on a white background
- SEE transcript and certificate
- NEB | Diploma | A Levels | IB transcript
- Bachelor transcript, certificate and individual mark sheet (if applicable)
- English proficiency test result — IELTS, PTE or TOEFL, if the university requires it.
- Completed university application form

Step 2 — No Objection Letter (NOC)
You must obtain a no-objection letter from Nepal's Ministry of Education to pay your tuition fees and leave the country. You need the following documents when applying for the NOC:
- Unconditional letter of offer (must show your name, subject, program level, duration and student ID)
- Citizenship certificate
- Passport copy
- Academic documents
- Invoice letter from the university or college showing payment details
- Degree awarded certificate (if you studied in a foreign country)
- Equivalency letter from Tribhuvan University (if you studied at a foreign university)
- Common Entrance Exam mark sheet (if applying for a health program)
- Previous NOC copy (if one has been issued before)
- Licence from the relevant authority
Step 3 — Fee Payment Checklist
The UAE does not set a fixed minimum bank balance. You pay the tuition and visa fees required by the university, and may be asked for bank statements showing you can support yourself.
- Tuition fee payment receipt
- University visa and service fee payment receipt
- Bank statement of student or sponsor — If the university requests it.
- Sponsor's letter of support — If the university requests it.
Step 4 — Visa Application Checklist
Send the university the following documents:
- Visa application form from the university
- Clear colour passport copy
- Passport photo meeting ICP guidelines
- Unconditional offer letter
- Tuition fee and visa fee receipts
- Police clearance certificate — If requested.
- Certificate from the university stating the length of your study
Step 5 — Entry Permit
- Entry permit — Issued through the university. Print it before you travel.
Step 6 — Medical Test, Emirates ID and Residence Visa
After you arrive, your university arranges the steps below to convert your entry permit into a residence visa.
- Medical fitness test — Required for residence visa applicants aged 18 and above, at an approved UAE government health centre.
- Security check and Emirates ID biometrics — Fingerprints and photo for your Emirates ID, scheduled by the university.
- Health insurance — Required by the university or emirate.
- Residence visa — Issued digitally once the medical and biometrics are complete.
Renewal
Your visa is renewed each year through the university while you stay enrolled.
