Dubai for Student Voice (QS Best Student Cities 2027)
We have been sending Nepali students to Dubai and across the UAE for more than 10 years, and one thing has never changed: the UAE student visa is one of the smoothest in the world when the file is right. Your university sponsors your visa, so you never apply to UAE immigration yourself. The delays we see almost always come from small, avoidable things: a name spelt differently, a missing receipt or an unattested certificate. Here is exactly how we guide our students through the process to study in Dubai or anywhere in the UAE.

A Genix counsellor walks every stage with you — and catches the attestation, NOC and name-mismatch problems before they delay your visa.
Where you would live
Most Nepali students choose Dubai, but three other UAE cities are also ranked in the QS Best Student Cities 2027. Each offers a different mix of universities, lifestyle and living costs.
Emirate of Dubai

Emirate of Sharjah

Emirate of Abu Dhabi
A quiet, green city and home to United Arab Emirates University (QS 217th), ideal for focused study.

FAQS
Dubai offers degrees from UK, Australian and other international universities, just a 4.5-hour flight from Kathmandu. Students also value its English-taught courses, part-time work options, safe environment and large Nepali community.
Choose Dubai for the widest range of international branch campuses and career opportunities. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain have the UAE's highest-ranked public universities, and Sharjah often has lower living costs. Your Genix counsellor will help you compare them based on your course and budget.
Expect to pay around AED 7,500 to 8,300 in the first year when you apply from Nepal. The amount covers visa processing, medical insurance and a refundable deposit of AED 2,500–3,000, which you get back when your visa is cancelled after you finish. Each university sets its own fees, and the express option costs more.
Yes, as long as you hold a work permit from MOHRE. Your employer applies for it, and your university must give its approval. Working without a permit is illegal and can lead to fines or the cancellation of your student visa. Many universities also arrange internships so you can build real work experience during your degree.
Yes, if you already live and work in the UAE on an employment visa. Many universities offer part-time master's programs for working professionals. However, part-time students cannot get a university-sponsored student visa, so students coming from Nepal usually study full-time.
Most universities ask for an English test such as IELTS or PTE. The score you need depends on the university and the level of your course. Some universities may waive the English test requirement, so contact the Genix team to check whether you qualify for an English waiver.
Universities in Dubai mainly offer merit scholarships and tuition discounts based on your grades and the course you choose. Applying early and submitting a strong, complete application improves your chances. Genix finds the scholarships you qualify for and helps you apply, with awards of up to 50% available through our partner universities.
Dubai is a major business hub, with jobs in finance, IT, engineering, hospitality, healthcare, logistics and trade. Graduates who get a job offer can move to an employment visa sponsored by their employer. Top graduates with a GPA of 3.5 or more can also apply for a 10-year UAE Golden Visa.
Yes. Almost all university programs in Dubai are taught fully in English. You can choose from bachelor's and master's degrees in business, engineering, IT, media, hospitality, architecture, healthcare and many other subjects.
Most universities ask for your academic certificates and transcripts, a valid passport, an English test score and a statement of purpose (SOP). Some courses also ask for a CV or recommendation letters. Your Genix counsellor gives you a checklist for your chosen university, so nothing is missed.
Not usually. Many universities in Dubai accept students with a study gap if you can explain it with evidence, such as work experience, training or other study. Genix helps you present your gap clearly in your application.
A degree from a Dubai branch campus is awarded by the parent university, such as Birmingham or Heriot-Watt. After graduating, have your degree attested in the UAE and then apply for equivalence with Nepal's University Grants Commission.
Yes. You need a No Objection Certificate from Nepal's Ministry of Education before your bank can send tuition fees abroad. You apply online once you have your offer letter, and Genix helps you prepare it.
