Master of Parks Management

The Master of Parks Management at Lincoln University, New Zealand, is a 180-credit postgraduate programme designed to develop specialised knowledge in managing national parks, protected areas, and recreational landscapes. Recognised as the first programme of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, it combines conservation biology, wildlife management, environmental policy, Māori resource management, and sustainable tourism. Students explore how natural and recreational spaces can be managed effectively while balancing environmental protection, cultural values, and public recreation needs.

The programme offers a multidisciplinary learning experience, allowing students to explore areas such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), environmental impact assessment, climate change, and natural resource management. It emphasises sustainable planning, conservation strategies, and evidence-based approaches to protecting natural environments. For Nepalese students planning to study Parks Management in New Zealand, the programme provides valuable insights into managing national parks, biodiversity, protected landscapes, and nature-based tourism, particularly relevant to Nepal's rich natural heritage and conservation priorities.
